The Del Ray Artisans, a community arts organization in Alexandria, VA, issued the following intriguing prompt for their upcoming show, Sweet and Salty :

Sweet: pleasing to the taste, mind, feelings, eye or ear
Salty: seasoned with or containing salt, related to the sea, racy

Ripe is both a bit sweet and salty, and will be on display at the gallery through October 28 during gallery hours at the Del Ray Artisans gallery at the Nicholas A. Colasanto Center, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia 22301. Gallery hours are: Thursdays, 12 noon to 6 pm; Fridays, 12 noon to 9 pm; Saturdays, 10 am to 9 pm; and Sundays, 12 noon to 6 pm. Please join me at the Opening Reception on Friday, October 5 from 7pm-10pm to check out Ripe and enjoy sweet and salty refreshments.
