I’m so excited to showcase BRAND NEW work alongside fellow DC artist, Rose Jaffe, in a duo show at the Mansion at Strathmore. The show opens Sunday, June 11!
BLUSH: In this duo show, a conversation emerges between the distinctive shapes and forms found in the works of Washington, DC, artists Emily Hoxworth and Rose Jaffe. Both artists use bold, bright colors and freeform shapes, often exploring and celebrating the body with a feminist lens. Their line work translates into shapes abstract and representational that fall into considered and organic compositions. Their sculptural work further explores their unreserved fascination with form, allowing the viewer another gateway into colorful perspectives and graphic worlds in three-dimensional space.
I find Rose’s work pretty incredible, so it’s been so great to connect with her about what inspires us to create. We’ve both been hard at work to bring new and experimental efforts to this truly fresh show. Join us Sunday, June 11 for the opening reception to check it out and ask us all your questions:
