I’m so excited to participate in my very first Artomatic, DC’s largest creative event. Artomatic creates community, builds audience and expands economic development by transforming available space into a playground for artistic expression. Unjuried events showcase creative work in visual art, music, film, performance, and fashion. In short, it’s an art event on steroids that is 100% free to the public. This year’s event is in Crystal City (Arlington, VA):
Where: 1851 S. Bell Street, Arlington, VA (Crystal City metro)
Where I will be: The 2nd floor, Space 146.
When: May 18 through June 23, 2011.

I picked out my exhibit space on the 2nd floor – I needed a larger space to display my work so this is where I ended up. I am planning to display two or three completed paintings as well as a NEW smaller scale piece I am feverishly working on to get ready in time. There are tons of special events such as meet the artist nights, marketplace weekends, tours, and workshops. I am going to try to spend as much time as I can in my exhibit space or on the floor just taking it all in. I’ll be posting to Facebook and tweeting to let you know when I will be there and what’s going on – so follow me @emhox for the latest. See you there!
