This installation came out of my interest in medical illustration as a window into the way we simplify and stylize scientific images. I worked with materials like makeup sponges, earplugs and false eyelashes – objects produced for consumer appeal that reference the body in highly stylized ways – to play with conceptions of the body in medicine and culture. Installed at MICA Riggs Gallery in July 2019.
